Honing your palate: Rum
Get to know the sugarcane plant. We'll taste raw the material used to create most rums and a handful of rums. In addition to tasting rums, you'll also experience them in cocktails to learn how to balance them properly.

About the event
Beyond the world of technique, recipes, and riffs, lies the importance of honing your palate.Â
The only way to strengthen yours is through tasting and reflection. Bartenders and chefs do this constantly.Â
I created this type of class because I realized this is the next step in a cocktail journey after a person knows how to make drinks. I'm inviting you to join me for a workshop curated to expose you to the history of a spirit, tasting its raw ingredients when applicable, the ways in which the spirit can come to life, and how to discern when a cocktail is balanced or not.Â
Written materials and snacks will be provided.
